1.1 - Start Up, Keyboard Shortcuts, search files and Current File Details

Starting up

If your IT Company manages your server make sure they know the startup procedures to get SettsPlus up and running.

Codebase should be running on the Server. If its not running, double-click on the "Start Codebase" Icon – SettsPlus will not operate unless Codebase is open.

If your server is accessed Remotely, press the “Console” button when starting up SettsPlus on the Server, to allow users to print cheques and receipts

Double-Click on “Launch SettsPlus.exe” to start Settlements Plus.

Enter your User Name and Password, then click OK

The Daily Agenda, then the Personal Diary will come up on screen, print if you wish to work on the Daily Agenda or close.

There are six TABS along the top of the screen separating the settlement process into usable chunks, each of the TABS has several Icons below. We will go through the details of each TAB at varying stages in this help section.

On your Desktop there should be a SettlementUser.exe(Blue House) Icon(Only used by Administrators and Licensees to change user and program settings)

Special Keys

“F1”	Looks up common preset entries
“TAB”	Press the TAB Key to update each field, then move to the next field “Shift+TAB” Makes the TAB go backwards.
“Space BAR”	Switches the “Tick” box (you have highlighted (via the tab) on and off.

Starting in the Home screen to Search for Existing Files, select the Change File Icon.

In “Search On”, select a search category from the drop down list, options can be the File Reference, Buyer/Seller, Address, Conveyancer or “All”

Enter the Search Information and click “Find” or press the Enter Key

Select the file, then click “Select” to open the file.

In this screen, Green Files have settled, White Files are open and waiting on settlement and Red File has been cancelled.

The “Current File Details” is a panel the left of the SettsPlus screen and it displays details related to the current file that you have open, such as the Status of the File as conditional or unconditional. Any balance of funds held in Trust on a file is also shown here, as well as who your are acting for

In the area below the solid line in Current File Details are the most recent files that you have opened. You can Double-Click on any of these files to “Open” that file, then work on the file without going to the File Search screen.
